A clear driveway makes for a better delivery day.

A practical guide to planning your Los Angeles cleanup.

Choose the location before the truck arrives.

Decide where the container could sit and discuss it with the rental team. Share driveway width, slope, surface type and anything overhead. The space a truck needs to position a bin is different from the space occupied by the bin itself.

Check the permissions.

Confirm approval from the property owner or manager. If you are considering public-street placement, check the applicable local requirements before arranging delivery. Do not assume the rental includes a permit.

Clear the approach.

Move vehicles, loose tools, bicycles and other obstacles out of the delivery route. Tell the team about gates and overhead lines. Keep people and pets clear while the driver positions the container.

Ask about protecting the surface.

Discuss the driveway material and any protection the team recommends. Avoid promising a placement before the surface and access have been assessed.

Plan for pickup, too.

Keep the approach clear throughout the rental. Load only approved items, stay below the fill line and do not block access with parked vehicles or leftover materials. Contact the team to confirm collection arrangements.
